Hey, everyone! Im new here Im going to write my bio, but firstly I wanted to ask a question - can I register as Supreme Court Justice? I saw that they are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate, but I saw too that no one is currently on this position? Why I want to be a Supreme Court Justice? Well, Ive played a similar game and I did enjoy working on legislation - reading it line by line, checking things & etc. + I think that since not many laws are unconstitutional it will help me better understand the game and in the same time Ill be playing too, not just watching.

The Supreme Court justices were recently nominated and will be confirmed soon. I think a position opens up in a couple of game years though.
In the meantime, we need lawyers to find the unconstitutional laws and argue a case before the Supreme Court. Is that something you'd be interested in?

Thank you for the information and welcomming! Well, what time are these couple of years? (in real days/weeks?) Also, for what kind of position you are talking regarding "we need lawyers to find the unconstitutional laws and argue a case before the Supreme Court"? Thank you in advance!

I would suggest getting a legislator as a main character, since that's where the meat of the game is at. Your Supreme Court Justice should be a multi.

Just wanted to make sure that Felledor saw this thread. He's in the middle of doing the Speaker race, so it might be a day or two til he's ready to accept new cases. I'd like to reiterate what Kansiov said though. The courts is just a small part of the game.

Thank you both! Well, there are no any problems - I'll wait, I don't want to spur him. Indeed if Im allowed to take part in this small part of the game, I'll be very very grateful

New Cases may be filed at any time. I'll be setting up a thread outlining the procedure for submitting a case here before too long, as Bruce said, I'm running a Speaker election that could go both ways depending on candidates and whatnot

Name: Jake Baldwin Date of Birth: 7 June 1754
Residence: New York Alma Mater: University of Pennsylvania
Religion: Atheist
Profession: Attorney, legislator
Jake Baldwin was born in 1754 in a mid-class family that had 2 slaves. He disliked working in his father farm and spent long hours in the local school. As a kid and teen he became more and more anti-slavery believer and even pushed his father to release on of the two slaves the family had. Baldwin graduated in the University of Pennsylvania where he discovored politics and found his love - lawmaking and judiciary. For several years he worked as an Attorney and later he became Clerck in the 1st House of Representatives where he served very objectively and independently. However, according to his political views he strongly supported, but did not showed any political affiliation, the Judiciary and Justice Act, the French Neutrality Resolution, the Banking Act & several other bills of that kind. Baldwin decided that he had enough and resigned when the House dismissed for the election. He said "I had the chance to be there, now other smart men should recieve that privilege". Since then he is working as an Attorney and political advisor to the newly elected congressmen and the President and several times during an year makes presentation for the U.S. political, judicial, executive systems in the University of Pennsylvania.
His principles include: the supreme power of the rule of law; anti-slavery; pro-english politics; pro-presidential form of Government; anti-massive electoral rights & etc.

Another note: you can't claim to have been a member of the 1st Congress unless you actually were. All seats were filled with players of NPCs.
I like how excited you are about the game :-)
