All characters can attempt to influence the state legislature by writing or even speaking with them in this thread.
Currently, Senator *Philip Schuyler (F) is being challenged by supporters of +Aaron Burr (R). It is expected that around 75 legislators support Burr at this point.

To the state legislature of New York,
Philip Schuyler has been a wonderful senator for New York, and he should get to continue as a Senator, Aaron Burr is a bad choice for Senator, and we need to make sure that Senator Schuyler continues.
Sincerely, Jackson Clay

Members of the New York State Legislature,
The Legislature must determine this year whom to select to represent the state in the United States Senate. Both candidates for this high office are well-known to this legislature, and well-respected in this state. But there is one candidate undoubtedly superior: Senator Philip Schuyler.
The State of New York should look for three attributes in a Senator: integrity, experience, and loyalty. The state needs a Senator who will exhibit honesty and straightforwardness in all things, one who will resist corruption, and thus avoid embarrassing or reducing the influence of this state. The state needs a Senator with experience, someone that knows how a legislature works, and that can get things done within it. And the state needs a Senator who will be loyal to New York, putting its concerns above any other, especially those of party.
Philip Schuyler meets these three qualifications. He is a man of integrity, exhibited through his heroic service as a Major General in the Continental Army, where he oversaw the defense of this very state. He is a man with experience, having spent the last two years in the United States Senate, eight years before that in the New York State Senate, and seven years before that in the New York Provincial Assembly. And he is a man of great loyalty, one who gave up his seat in the Provincial Assembly to fight for this nation's independence, putting the public good above his own.
Aaron Burr is certainly a man of integrity and experience as well, but he lacks one important qualification: loyalty to state interests. Everyone knows that Burr is a Republican in fact not out of ideology, but because of his personal hatred towards President George Washington, a hatred sparked by none other than an accidental error by the President. Can a man willing to base such a significant political decision off a personal difference truly be counted upon to put New York first? Will Burr oppose something the President proposes, simply because the President proposed it, even if it helps New York? A good public servant is one who serves the public -- not one who serves his own petty desire for revenge.
The New York State Legislature must choose this year between two men -- both of integrity, both with great experience. But one of those men, Philip Schuyler, has put New York first at every step. And the other, Aaron Burr, is best known not for careful service but for personal feuds. Let us not elevate feuding to the role of Senator; let us retain Senator Philip Schuyler.
Thank you, James Terrus Attorney of the United States

To the State Legislature of the State of the New York,
I hope this correspondence finds you gentlemen in good health and sound mental being, which can be of difficulty considering the psychological strain that has come with this critical election. You fine men representing this fine state, will have to choose between two men who are both dedicated to serving the State of New York, as a member of the United States Senate. These two men are Senator Philip Schuyler and Mr. Aaron Burr, two very competent men, with two very different ideals, with Senator Schuyler being evidently the better choice to represent the State of New York in the US Senate for another term.
Senator Schuyler served bravely, in the Continental Army as a Major General, deployed to the State of New York and saw to it's defense against the British at all costs. It is good men like Senator Schuyler that we owe our liberty and freedom to, and who better to serve our nation during peacetime than the man who fought with his life, for it during wartime? Despite his impeccable reputation as a member of the continental army, he is also a man of knowledge and intellect, especially in law, unsurpassed in said knowledge by any other man in this state. He was a member of the New York State Senate from 1780 to 1784, and at the same time New York State Surveyor General from 1781 to 1784. Afterwards he returned to the State Senate from 1786 to 1790, where he worked to usher in and bring the United States Constitution to this glorious state. He is experienced and has served New York well.
However, as a public servant, our potential expertise in office does not lie completely, in our history but rather in our plans for our constituency. If Senator Schuyler is chosen to serve for another term in the Senate, he will fight for this state to prosper, against those in the Republican Party, such as Aaron Burr who wish to see the entire nation serve the interests of the south. Senator Schuyler will devote himself to working to establish a comprehensive canal system in New York, so we can ensure full economic progress and development, boosting trade and wealth for everyone in New York. He will work for a national road system, so that the farmers in the north of the state, who are often isolated, can enjoy the economic benefits that New York State can provide, if Senator Schuyler and the Federalist Party is allowed to represent this state once more. His support for industry and development ports, will create more business for farmers and more business for traders, manufacturers, and industrialists, alike.
The Republicans claim that we care only about businessmen but that cannot be further from the god-given truth, because through Senator Schuyler and the Federalist Party's visions for a New York State canal system, a national road system, and more economic development, every single New Yorker will benefit. The choice is in your hands, gentlemen, I hope you make the right one, and select Senator Schuyler to represent the State of New York in the United States Senate for another term. Thank you. Long live and God Bless the State of New York and the United States of America.
Sincerely yours, Pierre Broussard

Members of the New York Legislature,
The 1790 elections are perhaps the most significant in history, featuring our first competition between major parties. On the national stage, the Democratic-Republicans, Nationalists, and Federalists are competing for control of Congress with the former two parties wielding national platforms. On the local stage, Philip Schuyler and Aaron Burr are squaring off to represent New York in the Senate, after Schuyler won election there two years ago. I write today to once again urge this august assembly to return Schuyler to the Senate.
Schuyler strongly defended liberty during his time in the Senate. He voted in favor of every article of the Bill of Rights, playing a key role in the passage of several of the proposals that are now the fundamental protection for the American people. He supported the Defense Acts, which established a navy to defend ports like New York City, and limited the domestic use of military force.
Burr has certainly promoted liberty in the past but he has always put politics first. He transformed an error of omission on the part of the President into a personal feud, which he refused to let go. He then joined the Republican Party for the sole purpose of continuing this feud, seeing it as the best way to defeat Washington's policies. And now he seeks election to the Senate for the sole purpose of obstructing the President -- not because he disagrees with President Washington, but because he dislikes Washington.
Schuyler has commonly crossed party lines even as Burr has refused to do so. He voted in favor of the appointment of Thomas Jefferson as Ambassador-at-Large because though he disagreed with Jefferson, he realized that the man was qualified for the office. He refused to condemn the National Democrats, even as they split from his own party, staying above and aside from the fray. Again and again, Schuyler put ideals before politics, always caring more about the nation than about any faction.
New York needs a Senator that's going to put New York's interests before anyone else's. Philip Schuyler proved himself capable of doing exactly that during his term in the Senate; Aaron Burr has proven himself adept only at personal feuds in the same period. This November, I urge the New York Legislature to select Schuyler, the superior candidate.
Thank you, Jack Terrus United States Congressman
