Dear Mr. William Short, American Minister to France,
I hope this correspondence finds you in good health. I would like to congratulate you on your very recent appointment as Minister of the United States to France, taking the place of the very honorable Thomas Jefferson, of whom you are private secretary to. I am writing this letter to you from my estate in Orleans, Massachusetts, a brief distance from Boston, where particular whispers have told me you are currently residing in before you depart for Paris. I am also aware that you will not be staying in Massachusetts for a lengthy duration of time and that your departure for Paris, France is imminent.
The purpose of me writing this letter to you was not simply to present to you, my deepest congratulations for your recent professional elevation but to inquire an act of service from you. My dearest wife, Claudette Broussard, although, an American citizen that has been assimilated and absorbed into our great society, was originally, in the previous years of her natural life, a bonafide French woman, who lived in Paris for much of her young life before migrating to the New World. She reminisces about and yearns to return to Paris, for a brief period of time, and I, despite my ample resources, cannot take her, due to my engagements and responsibilities in the United States Congress, and as you know, France is no longer safe for a lone woman to travel to, due to the ongoing hostilities and revolution occurring there. Not to mention, I also have a host of enemies in France due to events that took place in my earlier life, who would find nothing more enjoyable than to cause harm to the woman I love so dearly.
Given this, I humbly request that you, the honorable William Short, allow my wife, the beautiful Claudette Broussard, to accompany you on your pending voyage to Paris, France. I have no person(s) to place my trust in, from my home country, and it will help alleviate any worries I may have regarding my wife's safety and wellness in France, if you were to do me this act of kindness. If it please you, she will also be afforded arrangements close to the estate that you will be residing in while you're in Paris, France, and I ask that she be provided with an able and trustworthy escort at all times. All her expenses will be provided for and upon your return to Boston, from France, she will also accompany you, and upon arrival in Boston Harbor, you will be relieved of your responsibilities to her. I would be deeply disappointed but still understanding in the event that you reject this query. But in the event that you accept and would accomplish this service for me, please inform me of where you are currently lodging so my wife will have sufficient knowledge of where to encounter you, and I will be forever grateful to you.
May you have safe travels.
Sincerely yours, Pierre Broussard

Monsieur Broussard,
I would happily have your wife accompany me to Paris. However, I must warn you that the future of France may be tumultuous and her absolute safety cannot be guaranteed.
Yours,
William Short

Dear General Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette,
I hope this correspondence finds you in good health, and fortune. I would enjoy to say that it is my absolute and undiminished honor for you to be reading this letter, that hath touched my pen and my hands. I craft this correspondence not to request anything of you or inquire a service of any kind, but rather, to give you a display of my steadfast support for the French Revolution and your efforts against the French Royalists, as commander of the Garde Nationale.
I sincerely hope that your efforts to restore order, peace, and stability in the French Republic under the Assembly will be fruitful, and I will fight tooth-and-nail in the United States Congress for our new and young country, conceived in liberty, to at the very least, declare our moral and political support for the cause of the patriots and revolutionaries of France. You've helped the Americans fight for liberty in my new home, and the least I can do is help you, General Lafayette, fight for liberty in my old home. Once hostilities are over and stability restored to the French Republic, I invite you to my estate in Orleans, Massachusetts, so that I may finally meet the figure that hath shaped my country into the thriving Republic it stands as today. Good luck in your endeavors and may you discover your goals in France.
Vive la revolution. Vive la France.
Sincerely yours, Pierre Broussard

Dear Mr. Samuel Slater,
I hope this correspondence finds you in good health. I am Pierre Broussard, a congressional representative from Massachusetts and I would like to commend your actions in establishing our republic's first cotton mill. As a Federalist, I firmly believe that the development of industry in our country is necessary to generate wealth and business, not just for businessmen but working men as well. It will be men like you that will make America the economic power it has the potential to become. The United States will surely prosper with the knowledge you have brought to our shores, in defiance of the British. I sincerely hope that your cotton business will thrive and bring riches to you, your workers, and our country.
Sincerely yours, Pierre Broussard

Dear my beloved, Claudette Broussard,
I hope this correspondence finds you in good health; luck, fortune, beauty, and happiness, my beloved Claudette. I do apologize for not having written you any correspondences in recent weeks, but much of my time has been occupied with the responsibilities of being a member of the United States Congress and a dedicated member of my party. Nevertheless, I have not forgotten about you, and I, along with the children miss you dearly. We are all doing just fine, and the business is running as usual. Marie-Pierre came down with a case of the fever, and I had worried greatly about that, until Dr. James in Boston declared the fever gone. I am proud to announce that the Federalist Party has found great success in the recent elections. Other than that, there have not been many irregularities in our lives, besides the hectic schedule that I must employ to meet my responsibilities in the most recent series of elections.
I am sure you do not want to hear about politics or our humdrum lives here in quiet Orleans, so I must ask you, how is France? I hope you have been enjoying your stay, and that you are finding pleasure in visiting your hometown, despite the political changes that are occurring. How are your accommodations? Are you comfortable where you are staying, and please inform me about the living conditions there. How are you occupying your time? France may be a sizable and diverse country but I can't imagine there is much to do during this time of tension and political strife. Have you been in any danger? France is rapidly destabilizing and I fear more and more for your safety everyday, but I know that you are a strong woman, more than capable of taking care of yourself. I advise you to begin wearing "simpler" clothes and begin packing away the luxuries you have brought over to France. I do not wish to, but must inform you of the fact, that you might already know of, that mass beheadings are occurring, targeted against the aristocracy. I continue to pray for your safety and safe return.
Me and the family are expecting you back by spring and can't wait for your return. I would like to reiterate that I miss you with all my heart, and am finding it hard to patiently wait for your return. Safe travels. Please send me a correspondence as soon as you possibly can.
Sincerely yours, with all my love, Your loyal husband, Pierre Broussard

Dear Senator Tristram Dalton,
I would like to extend my deepest congratulations to you and your recent professional and political elevation, through you retaining your seat in the Senate as a representative of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You have served your people, and your country well, and I hope that you will continue to do so. For, we are not in office for our own personal benefit, but rather to serve the people that have chosen us to represent them. I hope that your promises made to retain your office are not broken, and that you will work for not just the businessmen of Massachusetts, but the factory workers, the shipbuilders, the farmers, and the ordinary men that make your state great. However, although we may be men of the people, choosing to put the interests of our constituents before that of the party, the National Democrats, who you are affiliated with, is not composed of such men.
As you may know, I sent a great many correspondences to the State Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, so that you could retain your seat in the United States Senate, despite the fact that a large majority of legislators had initially supported your opponent. One thing you may also have knowledge of, is that I am a member of the Federalist Party, an organization, not bound by a national political platform, but local policies that benefit the people we serve best, united in the common interest of a compassionate, and strong government to govern the people. While I was a Federalist, I continued to support you and the maintaining of your position in the United States Senate because to me and to a great many men of my party, it is not the organization you are affiliated with that will prove you can serve the people best, but it is the experience, the history, and the passion moving through your soul, that can determine you are the right choice for the people. The Federalist Party does not play petty politics, but rather, it is a party for the people, and we will support people no matter who may be running for office, as long as they have the interest of this country at heart.
However, the Federalist Party, as I've described it, is a stark contrast to the political entity you are a member of, the National Democrats. Time and time again, they sacrificed the interests of the people so they could play political games in our country. We must stand up to these heathens, these snakes, these less-than-senseless men, and reject their principles of politics before the American people. The National Democrats have been obsessed with obtaining political power to the point that they have formed a coalition in Congress, with the Republican Party. Yes, the Republican Party, the entity that is a polar opposite of the ideals that we have fought so long and hard for, that we have devoted our lives for. However, I can clearly see you are not truly one of them, no you are a honorable man, a man of God, a man of morals, and a man of the people. This is why I extend a hand to and urge you to leave behind these National Democrats who've sold out many of their own members so they could have short-term political gains, and join a party that has the attributes that the people of Massachusetts revere you for. In saying so, I would like to establish an official invitation for you to join the Federalist Party. We do not care about your history with the National Democrats, as we can see you are a good, honest man, wanting to fight for the interests of your fellow good and honest men, and I hope that you will look into your heart, and realize that the Federalist Party is the party you belong to. May God watch over you and guide you, Senator Dalton. Please send a correspondence to my Estate in Orleans as soon as you can.
God bless you, your family, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the United States of America. May he guide you to make the right decision.
Sincerely yours, Pierre Broussard
