People, please vote in favor of this motion. The Deputy Speaker has promised me unlimited docket access if we get this in place for him. Additionally, once this is in place, if we can win the Speaker election, it won't matter if we've a majority -- as the Speaker will hold all power.

Thanks, guys. I feel this is going to work out well.
Alright. A question. How does everyone feel about the Army Act? I know we're all not particularly favorable about an Army -- I'd rather just not have one at all -- but I think this compromise favors our interests by letting us set the terms. The Army Act establishes a standing army, yes -- but one that's overwhelmingly designed simply to serve as a coordinating/support force for the militias. There'll be about 1000 men guarding the capital, and that's it in terms of active forces -- everybody else will be engineers, artillerymen, and supply personnel. So yes, we're establishing the "United States Army" -- but we're not actually giving the federal government an army, if you get my meaning. Anyway, if y'all are okay with it, I can get it on the next docket.
Also, is everyone okay with my Treasury, Tax, and Coin Act? Forget about the tax part -- it appears that won't even be getting put into place -- but if y'all are behind the rest, I can get it docketed.

I can support the Army Bill, although I didn't see it on the docket? Is it still in the Hopper?

Yep. We've not gotten a new docket yet (still debating the last two). I plan to ask for it today, though.

What are the whips? I've gone ahead and voted how I believe I should, however some advice on how to vote to further the Republican Party would be nice

That's all up to Jonathan, he's the House leader.
For the Senate, I'm doing free votes unless we really need them to vote one way.

Ok sounds good. Any reason why I should be voting against the "Admission Act"?

Not really.

You need to vote against the Admissions Act. The State Constitution needs Congressional approval, thus making the expansion of slavery difficult under Federal control.

Jonathan, you need to start whipping us when house votes come up.
