Mr. Hughes, for himself, submits the following:
A BILL
To authorize the President of the United States to mobilize the militias of the disparate states for the defense of the borders of the United States and the protection of her citizens.
Section 1:
A. The Governors and Legislatures of the states are directed to make their militias available for federal use in the suppression of the Seminole invasion of 1789.
Section 2:
A. The President is authorized to act against the Seminole Indians in order to protect the interests and citizens of the United States.
