I am excited for the start of this new session. It's with great excitement that I trek forward, a member of the First Congress of the United States. I am so glad I have been elected to represent my people. I love them dearly, and I will represent them as best I can. I relish the thought that I get to contribute to the fabric of the nation. We get to declare the rules that will govern this body for years. We get to organize the various governmental departments. Thats why I ask all of you. Pay close attention. You may join me in this body someday.
Jackson Clay is a Representative of New York, and a member of our nations first congress.

A Call to ArmsMy fellow New Yorkers,
Disaster strikes the State of Georgia. But this disaster is not in the form of a hurricane or a tornado, a flood or a storm. It is the in form of a savage campaign by savage people, whose only mission is to destroy and devastate all that lies in their path. These "Seminoles" -- I dare not call them people -- have assaulted innocent farmers and peaceful families, destroying their property, scalping their men, and taking their women prisoner. No virtue or value is left respected by these heathens, who seek now to retake the state they legally ceded to the United States.
We must not permit this violence to stand. Such violence cannot be tolerated in any circumstance, but certainly not in our new nation. For if we permit these Seminoles to overrun Georgia, to devastate our fellow state, it will be clear to the entire world that our nation is open for the taking. We fought for years to establish our independence -- I travelled from France to join this fight. I shudder to think that I should have to travel back on the British, Spanish, and others seek to take this territory. But do not just think of foreign threats -- think also of the Indian tribes, here in New York even, that might see this as an opportunity. We must prove to the world that we are strong, that we cannot be assaulted so.
Politics aside, we must help our fellow Americans. New York and Georgia fought together against the yoke of tyranny just fifteen years ago. We have a bond, as do each of the thirteen (soon to be fourteen) states, and we must uphold that bond. We must help our fellow citizens -- for though they may live far from us, they are good people that deserve our support. Let us help them now -- let them help us when we need it in the future. It is these bonds of common assistance that build great republics, and that create the heroes that populate our lore.
I call upon every able-bodied New York today to join me in New York City one week from today, with arms, prepared to travel to Georgia to assist the State of Georgia in fighting off this assault. My good friend James Terrus has already committed for us a vessel to transport us there. The State of Georgia will be doing its best to have volunteers waiting to join us there. But right now, what we need are good men, righteous men, ready to fight with honor. What we need now is to show to the world, and to the Seminoles, that Americans cannot be killed any state without repercussions.
I will be traveling to Georgia this weekend to fight for freedom, honor, and virtue; I hope you will join me.
Signed, Christopher Bretagne Colonel, New York Militia
