The first and foremost purpose of this caucus is to discuss policies and ideas devoted towards protecting and promoting the American maritime trade. We stand in favor of the increasement of export and import of goods of any nature for the betterment of the American man. Further, we shall endeavor to protect our home interests and open new ports of trade in the Western and Eastern hemispheres.
A secondary purpose of this caucus is to provide a free forum for the purpose of open debate that ultimately leads to unity of the caucus, across factional lines, in the consideration and promotion of bills presented into the the federal Congress.

I am very excited to join this caucus. I also firmly believe that our national capital should be located on the sea. That is why I sponsored this bill and I hope that perhaps this caucus may support this endeavor.

I applaud your excitement. I find myself in some agreement with the idea of putting our capitol on the sea, in order to symbolize our nation's commitment to maritime trade and Commerce. I can see how some may oppose the measure due to military tactics and defensive difficulties. Yet that is why we have debates, to consider these matters in full through honest and earnest discussion.
I urge you to create a small debate here in this forum so that the matter could be more thoroughly examined and the caucus can come to some agreement. Begin the debate by presenting the best merits for your plan, good sir.

First and most importantly, this bill creates a national capital towards the middle of our nation. We, the 14 states, deserve to have a capital that is easily accessible to all and by placing our national capital along Rehoboth Bay in Delaware we are ensuring that.
Second, our capital, like the great man for which it is named , should serve as an example for all cities. By placing our trust on this spot our capital can serve as a mighty port, a strong manufacturing base as well as the seat of government and truly inspire our people.
Third by connecting our capital to the sea we can ensure access to the other nations of the world while also being able to stand aloof of the problems of them. Ease of trade and access shall make our national capital a world class city.
Fourth, unlike other areas, Rehoboth Bay is a large natural port sided by two large promontories. Upon them we can place protectors to defend our capital and nation.
I hope that I have persuaded you gentlemen and would answer any questions you may have

Would we be constructing a new city or building onto an already established settlement?
