Some members of the House of Representatives taken it upon themselves to seek to impose upon the multitude of states that make up our republic their own will. Rather than listening to the voices of the peoples living in these states some would seek to impose their opinion on others. This is just the sort of tyranny we fought against in the Revolution. The tyranny that took from our people their voice and in its placed substituted the voice of a few from far away. It is a step backwards for our Republic if we allow this tyranny to continue. We must stand guard my friends and the bulwarks of history against the tyrannical urges of a few.
Now some of these men will argue that they are simply arguing about slavery, a controversial issue no doubt. But where it starts with slavery we cannot know where it ends. Once we begin down this slippery slope we cannot help but slide away from the freedom and liberty we long fought for. We must take a stand and preserve the rights for the peoples of the states that make up our union to govern themselves. It is the right thing to do and we must preserve this right of choice or face unending tyranny.
